Full course description
CAPACITY offers free, self-paced courses designed to help clinical instructors in non-acute care pre-licensure nursing courses strengthen their clinical teaching knowledge and skills in public health, community health and primary care settings.
This module is designed to enhance the clinical experience for learners in the ambulatory care setting. The content in this module is applicable to those who have direct hands-on contact with the learner, which may include the clinical preceptor or the academic clinical instructor. General adult learning principles, as well as teaching and evaluation techniques will help the clinical instructor feel confident in developing rapport and providing constructive feedback.
Objectives
- Identify appropriate principles for student engagement.
- Determine strategies that actively engage students.
- Evaluate effectiveness of student engagement activities.
