 CAPACITY offers free, self-paced courses designed to help clinical instructors in non-acute care pre-licensure nursing courses strengthen their clinical teaching knowledge and skills in public health, community health and primary care settings

About this Course

This module is designed for clinical instructors who want to strengthen their knowledge and skillset with assessing clinical sites and clinical preceptors. The skills and knowledge in this module will help the clinical instructor feel confident in developing rapport and providing constructive feedback to the clinical site and the clinical preceptor. This module will improve the learner's understanding of effective relationships with clinical sites and preceptors and overall comfort with skills in the non acute nursing field.

Objectives

  • Identify strategies to assess the current knowledge and skills of a preceptor in a non-acute primary care nursing setting
  • Identify strategies to engage the clinical preceptor and develop rapport
  • Professionally and confidently evaluate clinical sites and clinical preceptors
