This module will discuss the COVID-19 triage process and its importance for identifying patients who are at a high risk of contraction, as well as how to determine treatment with limited resources.

Objectives

  • Define telephone triage
  • Understand the reasons why telephone triage is important during a pandemic
  • Describe the importance of early identification of symptoms and comorbidities risk
  • Recognize the importance of early identification of patient symptoms and comorbidities risk which need to be addressed
  • Consider the importance of treatment algorithms for appropriate use of limited resources
