About this Course

In this four lesson module, RN learners will discover common telehealth terminology and the  various ways telehealth technology could be employed to provide team-based care to primary care patients in a remote environment. Of course, as with any technology, the options are evolving at a rapid pace. The use of telehealth to promote full RN scope of practice will be demonstrated through a simulated telehealth encounter between an RN, a provider, and a patient experiencing homelessness.

Objectives

  • Identify key telehealth terms, keeping in mind they are constantly evolving
  • List at least three types of technology that assists with telehealth
  • List three ways nurses can employ telehealth technology to provide care for patients remotely
  • Summarize how an RN in a mobile unit leverages telehealth technology to provide interdisciplinary care to patients without housing.
