CAPACITY offers free, self-paced courses designed to help clinical instructors in non-acute care pre-licensure nursing courses strengthen their clinical teaching knowledge and skills in public health, community health and primary care settings.

This program contains the following four modules:

• Clinical Faculty in the Non-Acute Care Setting: Ambulatory Care - This module was created to help clinical faculty in the non-acute care setting understand the basics of ambulatory care.  It aims to help define ambulatory care, familiarize clinical instructors on how ambulatory care clinics function, and identify the various services offered by ambulatory care facilities.
• Comparisons for Public Health, Community Health, and Ambulatory Care Nursing - This module was created to help nursing clinical instructors explore the differences between public health, community health, and ambulatory care nursing.
• Early Language Interactions: The Role of Nurses in Primary Care and Ambulatory Settings -The Early Language Interactions: The Role of Nurses in Primary Care and Ambulatory Care Settings module was created for nursing clinical instructors to learn about the importance of early language interactions with children in the first three years of life and ways to enhance language opportunities for young children.   
• RN Scope of Practice in Non-Acute Care Settings - This module was created for the nursing clinical instructors to investigate the ideal scope of practice.  While the intended audience is the nursing clinical instructors within the Emory School of Nursing, the content in this module might be applicable to the broader audience of nursing faculty.
• Mentoring Nursing Students for Careers in Ambulatory Care: A Guide for Nursing Faculty -This course was developed to help nursing clinical instructors become familiar with career opportunities outside of acute care, career planning, and professional development activities of nurses.

Emory Nursing Professional Development Center (ENPDC) is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.  Attendees to this CNE activity will be awarded 1.0 Continuing Nursing Education contact hours from ENPDC.
